Summertime Smoothie Time

“The journey is part of the experience—an expression of the seriousness of one’s intent. One doesn’t take the A train to Mecca.”

Freshly made fruit smoothie, ready to be devoured on a very hot day

One of the hardest parts of trying to eliminate processed sugars from your life can be summed up by the comforting words of: Summer and Ice Cream.  Enough said.

However, I have discovered a solution to this perplexing problem that is, dare I say, more delicious than ice cream?!  I might be slightly biased here and perhaps I'm just trying to will that statement to be true.

There are a lot of smoothie options out there however this one is, by far, the most delicious and also the easiest to make.  It's a whopping 2 ingredients.  You ready for this?  I don't think you are but here we go anyways:

The Most Delicious Smoothie in the World

-Organic Frozen Fruit
-Organic Coconut Milk (that does not have any added sugar)

If you don't have any fresh organic fruit on hand, Costco happens to have a plethora of frozen organic fruit blends.  Costco also happens to have the Thai Kitchen Organic Coconut Milk, which is the best coconut milk I've found for this (I've tried quite a lot of them).

If you do happen to have fresh organic fruit (hello peach and cherry season), you must slice, pit and freeze the fruit before blending, this is a must.  Unfrozen fruit is no good for this.

Take your organic frozen fruit, add to blender, take your organic coconut milk and add to blender.  Blend.  Add to glass.  Enjoy.

That's seriously all there is, it tastes better than ice cream, you get loads of natural fiber, plus there's no added sugar, which you don't even notice!!!

If you are concerned about what is in your food then it is extremely important that the fruit you eat is organic (preferably beyond organic).  If you are only going to splurge on one thing, make it fruit.  Why you ask?  Cause most fruit is loaded with pesticides as demonstrated by the 2024 Dirty Dozen list which shows you the top 12 fruits and vegetables that are most commonly contaminated with pesticides.

As always, if you're not growing it yourself then the best option is to buy your fruit and veggies from a farmer that you know and trust.  If that's not possible then buying organic is the next best option.

May your Summertime Smoothies be delicious, never ending, and a bringer of most excellent times!  Keep it real out there!

Side Hustle Idea:  Make and sell these at your local farmers market.
